Just finished a signing with Steiner Sports and Topps. 2,000 signatures in a row can be grueling. Good thing I have a quick sloppy autograph (kidding….well, not really) I’ll be back later with a new song playlist, maybe a random picture of the day, and some photos of upcoming prizes for contests. Wow. We do so little writing as it is thanks to PCs, CrackBerries, etc. I can’t even imagine signing my name that many times. Careful with the pitching arm!

Phil, you’ve been lookin great this year, I find it hard to believe that you are about one month younger than me and your pitching for the yankees, and i’m selling insurance in Missoula MT. By the way, do you want to buy a Life insurance policy from a diehard yankee fan that’s your age. Think about it, you got to get insurance from someone. All I have to say is that I hope you don’t start to feel overwhelmed by everyone wanting a piece of you in some way. I hope the same for Joba and Ian. I can’t imagine what it would take to stay grounded in the face of all that. But I hope you do, and I hope you continue to let us in on the goofy side of you three and your other teammates. It makes me smile when you guys show off your personalities.
So kick some butt this year, but have fun doing it.

While it can be draining to masterfully craft the Hughes name over 2000 times in one day, I believe it would be substantially less burdensome to do so for compensation.

Heard that Metallica is 6 weeks away from finisihing their new album, but it won’t be released until the fall. I can’t wait to thier new stuff, Lars said they have returned to their roots. Keep up the good work.

First of all, signing 2000 autographs in a row must have sucked….but i guess now you can say you did it. Second of all, Phil, I think it’s incredibly amazing that you are responding to some of these comments because it feels like we’re actually having a conversation with you as opposed to just commenting on something you wrote. It’s so cool. This whole blog is awesome and everyone thanks you for it.
Can you tell us something about today’s brawl? What was going through your mind? Were you advised to stay away, or did you go right away to help your teammates? Have you ever been involved in a crazy brawl?

what the yankees did today was a disgrace to professional baseball! for christ’s sake, YOU’RE THE NEW YORK YANKEES! you’re supposed to be the bigger men in situations like this, and walk away without have a grudge and wanting to seek revenge!!!

must admit that sounds pretty hard to do. i have 2 take notes in class and that makes my hand KILL!! espicially when i’m writing history notes or a writing essay in english. imagine writing ur name 2K times straight, don’t know how u do it fill, along with being a gr8 pitcher, u can do that, now THAT is something that is impossable for me. 2000? Wow. It’s better in spring training when the games don’t count though, instead of in the middle of the WORLD SERIES which you will win. what happened today, because everyone was wondering what Derek and Alex were doing during the whole ordeal. They usually just sit and joke around.

How awesome is it that you brawled today in the game!!! I love the attitude this team has. Taking names and kicking a$$. Forget the pitch counts, there should be a count on how many autos, mail you do! That’s a lot and I can’t get over how sports stars are about the most down to earth with these signings for fans and such because that can really lead to an injury! Ouch.

You just signed with Steiner Sports, I’m assuming this was a private signing. Are you planning to do any public signings with Steiner Sports when you get back to New York? I saw you did one last summer, but I missed it. So hopefully you’ll be doing more.
