Evans Blue
21 03 2008I can’t get enough of their newest album, The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends. Really, really good stuff. I suggest checking it out if you’re into alt rock/hard rock stuff. I was trying to put together a new list of songs I’ve been listening to lately when I realized it’s just been this CD over and over.

Phil, what’s the last concert you actually had tim eto make it to?? Went to the Foo Fighters about a month back at the Garden, that was a great show. Will check out the album. Tough to find good albums lately.

phil you should definitely check out Alter Bridge - their new cd Blackbird is really good as well

I love this album, from beginning to end. Do you have a favorite song of theirs? I honestly like every single one of them, but “Pin Up” is my current ringtone. I’ve been waiting for Evans Blue to come to New York forever!
phil, i don’t remember if i mentioned this the last time i commented on your music choice, but evans blue has a song that was on their demo (i think it’s on their myspace page, could be wrong about that) that is simply amazing.
“saturnalia” is in my top five favorite songs of all time. you should investigate. so good!
How about The Carpenters, Phil? I like just about any type of music, even some of the Carpenters music. I like some alt/metal but I haven’t heard of that group.

Check out Saving Abel. Their first major label disc just dropped on the 11th, it’s kind of a 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, southern rock mix. The video for their first single “Addicted” is on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ4Jslynxcs) and is HOT! By hot, I mean the chick in it is smoking hot! Good disc from beginning to end.
Hey Phil, would you happen to be a fan of AC/DC? If you are, you need to check out this band called Airbourne. They sound a LOT like AC/DC, and that music will get you pumped up.

Wild games yesterday in the NCAA tournament! Great finish to the Western Kentucky game and then late last night Villanova comes back from 18 points down to beat Clemson. Also, San Diego from the WCC moves on by upsetting UConn.
NO what sucks well let me tell you!
I was in Tampa at some yankee games and i got all these autographs on a ball and everything and when i arrived back in New York at the airport I went to get something to eat in the airport i left my bag next to my dad which had all my stuff in it( Signed Baseballs, I-pod, Social Security Card, Phil’s Rookie Card, and my wallet with my money) WEll when i came back my dad was in the car and i thought i saw my bag still there i turned around to get it and it was gone. All my stuff i got was gone. So everything on my first trip to Florida is gone. I’m only 16 and cherished my signed baseballs and stuff but now they are in the hands of someone else and i have nothing from the trip to remember except seeing the games. THAT SUCKS!
Sorry, but Evans Blue is obviously just a big ripoff of Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle.

The Promise and the threat and Kiss the flag are really good songs.
Eclipsed is my favorite song by Evans Blue.
I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the group Ra, but if not you should check them out. “Do You Call My Name” is a good song to listen to while driving.
ra’s awesome. local boston band. their fifteen minutes were way too short. top songs, in my opinion: “rectifier,” “sky,” and “do you call my name”
I’m listening to their stuff now on their myspace page . . . I like it. Maybe I’ll download the CD from iTunes when I get a chance. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey Phil, I like both bands you’ve mentioned before (Evans Blue and Breaking Benjamin) a lot myself. I recommend you check out Crossfade, Puddle of Mudd, and Papa Roach. All good stuff.
Chevelle is also very good like someone said above me. If you have iTunes just order by popularity when you check em out prolly best way to look for new songs

All these bands are good but i think classic rock is the best kind of music. Hey Phil do you listen to any classic rock?
I bought this disc the day it came out and keep going back to it at least once a week. I keep checking their website for tour dates, but nothing is ever on there.
I just read some of the other comments, and although I do love Evans Blue. I have to give the edge to Chevelle on a head to head competition, and TOOL is on a level by themselves far ahead of anything else.

If you like that Evans Blue album (one of my favorites) you should check out Trapt’s last album “Someone in Control” and the new Alter Bridge record someone mentioned earlier, “Blackbird”. You won’t regret it.

I am a big fan of Evans Blue’s first album, not so much the second. I really think you should check out Killswitch Engage. The album As Daylight Dies rocks. Also Hurt is a really good band too. Best of luck as the season starts man.

I just picked up the new Raconteurs CD. All of their stuff is killer. Jack White of the White Stripes is the leader of the band. Its a little more rock oriented than White Stripes stuff.
I must admit, among my friends, I discovered Evans Blue. I quickly recommended it to all of them, and they all became fans as well. Good Choice

Good choice with Evans Blue…they put on a great live show, too! I saw them with Finger Eleven last Summer here in Seattle. If you havn’t already, check out F11…http://www.fingereleven.com they have one of the best live shows!!

EB is great. Also, if you get a chance, listen to Hurt. Their new album, Vol. 2 is great top to bottom. Not too hard, but every song is real good… try it out.

Yeah man, I got the 1st album got some downloads fromt he new one. The guy has a real distinct sound, cant get enough. You should check out the bands red and rev theory. you like evans blue you will like those guys for sure. If u ever have the oppurtunity to see evens bluse live, do it man, they rock.

If you like Evans Blue and Breaking Benjamin, you should really listen to Red (their album is called End of Silence). I’m having the same experience with them as I’ve had with Evans Blue.
Yeah Evans Blue is pretty kickass, they played a show in orlando a little while ago.
