Happy Sunday

2 03 2008

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I have the parents and my agent in town at the same time. Gotta take advantage of family time while I can. It’s a long season. If I have the energy I’ll post a contest later on this evening. Take care!

Have fun with you parents. My son watched the game the other day. He saw you pitched and said you looked good. You’re one of his favorites. I’m sure everyone says that to you, just wanted to add our family to the list. πŸ™‚

Im glad your having a good time in Tampa with the family. I did not get to see you pitch but your stats look great. I have a question, is there internet access in the clubhouse? There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.

Enjoy your time with them… you don’t get the chance to see family too often during the season

Have fun Phil. Even you are entitled to a day off, LOL.
Like you said the season is starting soon and we all know from a fan’s POV how stressfully and long it is. Nobody can imagine how it is for you guys.
Enjoy the down time with the loved ones while you can.
It is not like we will turn on you for no updates for a few days. It is an honor to have you take time out of your life to interact with us. This is a priveledge, nothin more that you make yourself so accessable. We are all greatful for whatever time you have for us, but family is ALWAYS first, especially with free time and even more with your long and busy schedule during the season.

Thanks for everything Phil. Have a good day and time with the family.

Jim

“There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.”

it’s Phil’s blog. If he doesn’t feel like putting up an entry after every outing, that’s reason enough for him not to do so.

Frankly, I’m just thankful that Phil has given us this window into his life at all.

Don’t worry about us. Enjoy your family time. I have to tell you I got out of work and tried the car radio hoping that the game would be on the radio. It was and they we raving about you 3 kids and the game yesterday. Sounded awesome and it was so nice to have baseball on the radio again.

It’s really great of you to still check in; you’re really in a class of your own. The Yankees’ youth is so polished but still seems to have a lot of fun. You pitch Tuesday, right? Can’t wait!

Hey Phil,

Thanks for the update- enjoy the time with your family as much as you can, whenever you can- when the season starts it’ll be hectic.

When are you scheduled to pitch again?

I know the feeling of wanting to spend time with your family whenever you can (and I’m not even a baseball player). Enjoy family time!

nice couple of innings so far Phil, looking good. Heard you and Joba were giving it to Ian the other day for giving up a hit to USF.

Don’t worry about the updates. It’s more important to see the people who you won’t see that often during the season. As far as us, we’ll be here all season anyway….lol

Hey Phil: I saw the channel 2 news here in New York at 6 and Ducis Rodgers said he had interviewed you and it’s going to play at 11 so I’ll be sure to watch it. Have fun with your parents and relax!!! It IS a long season and being the last season at the House That Ruth Built, it’s going to be CRAZY!!! Rest up!

Did you happen to catch the race in Las Vegas today? That was some wreck Jeff Gordon had…

“There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.’

I’d rather have Phil preparing for a start, and not posting to us. Give me a break. he doesn’t have to do this. When ever he posts is fine.

2 03 2008
yankeechick78

And it is posts like the one asking why he can’t constantly post to us, that will scare him away and not make him want to post at all. You can’t just want and want.

I was in Tampa for the weekend and watched you throw in the bullpen this morning with Joba. You looked really good I just wish I could have seen you pitch in a game but hopefully i will when Im down there in a couple of weeks again. Take care

There you go, Phil, chucking us aside for your family! J/K I can imagine with the long season ahead and all the travel, etc. that you do live a nomadic life during the baseball season so it’s understandable you’d want to spend as much time with the family when you get the chance. So you have our permission to enjoy! ; )

Manimal,

You, my dear friend, are an idiot… Please take your idiocy over to SOSH, or the Tony Massarotti blog, before we all catch dumb from you. You might as well be a Sox fan.

We should be lucky he makes enough time for his fans to do this blog, especially with everything he’s got going on. And the contests rule, thanks for that, Phil.

Typical spoiled fool. Give a mouse a cookie, and he wants a glass of milk.

Phil is not a reporter like P-Abe, Feinsand, Caldera, Kepner, et al. He is a player. Thus, he is under no deadline (or contract) to blog at all, much less AFTER every outting, game, or whenever he, Shelley, Ian, Joba and Melky water-balloon Pavano and egg his car, nor after every crap he takes.

I understand this is the technology age…. but for the Love of Montero, whaddya expect, a random picture of the day of a Hughes hangnail? A picture of Giambi lubing up his hair in the clubhouse? Maybe a shot of Hank trying to hire hitmen in Tampa to pay a visit to Pavano?

The guy is 21. He’s already been deemed the savior of NYY, the franchise hero. Leave him alone. When I was 21, I didn’t even know what a computer was. For me, it was beer, college, beer, sports, beer, sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Its idiots like you that are going to ruin this thing. I’m sure Cashman wants Phil to disclose EVERY LAST DETAIL OF HIS LIFE ON HIS BLOG, 24 HOURS A DAY !!! Just like that fat, ketchup stained, blowhard of a monkey, over at 38pitchestogetoutofaninning.com…. El Bloggo de Gordo….aka Table for One…aka Curt Schilling.

So don’t get greedy… And don’t ruin a good thing for the rest of us….

“There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.”

Yeah… except for the fact after every game, he’s got to meet with reporters, shower, talk to coaches, hit the trainer’s room, maybe sit and eat dinner with his teammates. Godforbid, maybe call a family member…

I can think of a 100 reasons why the poor kid can’t blog after EVERY outting. Now, I’m sure most of you will call me a kiss-up. But, in reality, its idiots like Manimal that demand too much of players, reporters, and team officials.

Bigbronxballs77

PS- Shoutout to P-Abe, It Is High, and the Yankees winning #27 in 2008!!!!!

Phil – I think what you are doing on here is so awesome! It is young players like you that make baseball what it is. It is nice to see such a great player give us baseball fans an insight on your everyday life. Keep up the good work and enjoy your family time!
