Nice looking prizes, man! Can I get one?!?!?!
oooh, I got the first post. That’s so cool! Sorry, that makes me excited. That, and the fact that that my school’s baseball team is winning by 5 runs in the 8th inning. 6 more outs and we’re 15-1.
Which video game systems do you play Phil? (obviously 360 because of all the Halo talk)
wow that is awesomeeee. & alot of stuff. cant wait ! although im never good at these so i can just get used to looking at the pictures. haha but cant wait !
looks like that pullover would fit me nice… 🙂
Wow! I want four of the six of those prizes,I’ll have to decide which one I REALLY want…( a part of me wants the team signed ball the most)…
I have a feeling Phil took the 360 version for himself
Wow Phil, those are awesome prizes. You are the man.
that is some cool stuff, I hope I win something! … just out of curiosity, what made you decide to keep the cork (did you think of it then as it was happening or did you go back later on)? maybe it still smells like victory champagne (or “sham-pog-nay” Christopher Walken as The Continental)
Great stuff Phil. Really looking foward to the upcoming contests. You are being very generous to take your time to do this. I think I can speak for everyone by saying that it is greatly appreciated.
Kevin
That cork is seriously the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I want that so bad! 🙂 That wildcard clinching was–amazing. You did what I’d been telling everyone the Yankees would do all year–make the playoffs. I definitely cried that night when Robbie caught the final out.
Omg I want that bat!
dude, you’re amazing
i read somewhere that you’re living over in edgewater, nj. ever go to Vespa’s? awesome chicken parm. good luck this season and keep up the posts.
Phil,
All of those prizes are great. You are truly generous to your fans!
Best of luck in ’08
Phil…thank Shelley for all of us…its great to see some fire and grit…that is what we have been missing for a while now…I hope to see a lot more of that this year…
your good for even thinking of keeping the champagne cork! And at first I definitely thought you meant an illegal bat cork hahaha
Did you keep more than one? – because i wouldn’t want to give that up!
The cork is very cool. Very creative thing to give away.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign the games.
Excellent prizes btw, Shelly “I’m gonna run over Rays” Duncan bat is AWESOME.
Awesome, Id love the Wii game.
Phil,
Thanks for the opportunity to win those awesome items! I agree with nyyfan5, please tell Shelley thanks. I too can’t wait to see more of that this year. WS champs in ’08!
Phil …
You are truly unbelievable doing this for the fans …you wouldn’t even have to do the contests to make the fans adore you …just the blog is enough. Just knowing that you care for your fans to take time out for them on this blog is truly amazing and the contests with the fabulous prizes is the icing on the cake.
A terrific ballplayer but more importantly a fantastic person…that’s you Phil…
Thanks !!!!
Go Yankees 2008 !!!!
Wow, what a line up!
You’re such a cool guy for doing all of this.
Those prizes are awesome. I was wondering if there are any other Missouri Diehard Yankee fans blogging here? I play for my Varsity team in HS and i get a ton of crap about it. They are all Cardinal fans. lol. Its all good though because we’ll see how the Yanks compare to the Cards at the end of this year!!!!
Phil,
Its nice to see an athlete give time back to their fans as much as you do. I am thankful for that, its nice to get to know the player you root for all year round. Keep up the good work and good luck in ’08
Thanks
Phil,
You are a doll for doing this for your fans. I’m sure your team is so proud that you represent them so well :-). It’s really great to get to know you on a non sports related basis. You guys have converted me from a Phillies Fan to a Yankees fan in the 8 months I’ve lived up here!!
For one of your contests you should do some different topics for questions…maybe music or bands? Just a suggestion 🙂
oh man great stuff, thanks phil. p.s i know you got that 360 version of 2k8 in your 360 lol.
Looks great!!! Can’t wait for the contests!! Not to sound greedy, but how about some prizes that involve you? Signed picture, ball, hat. I love how you are including others and defintely not complaining but wouldn’t mind winning stuff from you either!!
Phil,
You are crazy!
Gotta love the young phenom that dishes out the swag!!!!
You are the best.
I have 2 fantasy leagues that I am drafting in the next couple of weeks.
I have you tabbed as my sleeper.
Although all who come into your blog know you are our Ace for the next 10 years!!!
Thanks Phil.
ps. Im a XXL just in case you wanna send me that pullover!!
Those prizes are awesome. Thanks for doing contests for us Phil!! Go Yanks!!
Awesome stuff. Those giveaways shoudl certainly drive up the # of hits the blog gets.
There are no words to describe how badly I want that bat.
Out of the six of those prizes, the cork is by far the coolest.
I’m looking really forward to the upcoming contests and season.
I really think it is amazing what you’re doing for us; the greatest fans in the world!!
You are an awesome guy!
Very cool!
Being in the bigs now, do you get hooked with copies of the games? Man I’m jealous!! Are you given the systems too?? No Wii playing for you!! Need to watch that arm and hammy!!
sweet dude. even tho every1 knows that MLB the show is way better than 2Ksports. but hey i’ll take w.e u give me.
I’m drooling. Can Shelley sign it “Red Sox Suck”?
How about he signs it…”cleats up!” Damn those Rays!
How about today’s game used Shelley Duncan cleats?
Nice prizes, Phil. Thank you.
Phil, you are the man!! Thank you so much for doing these contests. Like others have said… you don’t have to, but you’re still hooking us up all the time! That just shows what kind of a person you are. There’s some pretty school stuff here… looking forward to seeing what kind of contest ideas you can come up with. Can you give us a sneak peak as to what kind of contests you’re thinking of?
Phil,
These prizes are the coolest things ever, and thanks so much for giving back to the fans. Are the two games signed? That would be cool! I think that cork is possibly the coolest idea for a prize yet, it’s so unique and special.
Good luck this year!
Sweet prizes…how did you randomly get two copies of MLB 2K8 for different systems? Did you cut a deal with 2K Sports or something?
HAND CRAMP!
You scared the crap out of me with that headline just to let you know.
QUESTION
Phil, Have you created a career as yourself on a baseball game yet?????
You’re pretty sick in the new 2K8 too.
WA-WA-WE-WA!
Shelley Dunkan is one disgraced player. I wouldn’t even touch his bat if my life depended on it. Phil I hope you pass this message to him and tell him that he is a coward.
well duncan was playing hard just like the tool that broke cervellis wrist its baseball
love the prizes
hey phil, is there a way to ban becca3 from ever coming on to your site again?
Oh yea he was playing hard and he didn’t mean to do it. I heard that one before.
Hey doodah,
He doesn’t have to do that. I’m leaving on my own.
I’m with you boodah…the disgrace is someone coming onto a Yankee related blog and badmouthing an actual player and fan of the person’s blog you’re actually on. Though I guess you can’t keep the haters out all the time. Just shows how much everyone is crazy about the Yankees, even the haters feel the need to post!
Ignore the trolls, they’ll go away =)
i like that idea boodah lol ….. to bad roger and scott are gone there middle name was retaliation
You’re spoiling us, Phil. Not that I’m arguing…
I am really excited about the Shelley Duncan signed bat! I got to meet him two years ago when he was still with AA Trenton. He was here in CT playing our local AA and met him at a local restaurant… wish I had thought about getting his autograoh then but I was too star struck! Haha
The disgrace is that becca should learn how to spell the player’s name if she is going to criticize him ..it’s DUNCAN ….not DUNKAN …
Go Yankees 2008 !!!
you know what i was just thinking how it is it possible to not like shelley duncan? people are crazy he is great
I’d love to have that Duncan bat. Awesome prizes Phil.
Great prizes Phil. Thanks for all the creative generosity!
wow phil, you are unbelievable with these prizes. i have participated in every contest and yet i have not won, lol. im hoping my time comes SOON!!!!! thanks again for the great prizes, this great board and keeping us yankee fans updated on the stuff we wouldnt normally hear about or see. thanks again. james
I really hope that anyone who wins that bat puts up a 24/7 webcam on it with the highlight from today’s game playing over and over. Please get the game signed spikes from today.
On a side note, thanks for the blog Phil. We owe you a sincere thank you.
Those are awesome. I had a good laugh just thinking about you picking up corks on the floor after the celebration.
hah that shelley duncan bat has my name all over it
I dibs the pullover
Sorry everybody
Phil, those are pretty sweet. Any prize you offer, though, is just a bonus. Since I don’t have Wii or PS3, I could use the pullover..lol
cork rocks!!! too freaking cool!!! thanks for the generous prizes!!!
those prizes are cool as hell…
this is my first post and i hope you read this
you are my favorite yankee since soriano and id appreciate it if you could post when you do signings and stuff. last year i planned the yankee games id go to around when youd start.
please get yourself the 4 spot in the rotation so i can see you pitch in the 1st friday game
this is probably some of the coolest stuff ever
oh wow….now you have us all excited!
Hey Phil,
Its been said many times before, but we all truly appreciate the time you put into this blog. Thanks for the posts and the prizes! I think i speak for everyone when I wish you the best of luck this season (i’d wish you good luck even if you didnt have the blog, but now i actually have a way for you to know it). If only more athletes were like you and interacted with the fans more often (without being forced to) players wouldnt have reputations of being greedy and self centered. I know as fans we can be tough on you guys, but we truly appreciate stuff like this. Thank you!
Phil-do you take the subway to the stadium?
Wow you do know we`ll love you even if you dont give out free stuff right?
Awesome prizes, Phil.
If only I had electric stuff…
hey phil sick prizes man we really appreciate it. i got some suggestions for the contests; have a contest to name joba, ian, and you. you pick the 5 most creative then we vote on it; quotes from you favorite movies-then we name the character and the movie (tough ones people cant imdb.com), most original 50 word poem/rap/verse about the yankees, guess your favorite bar in the city…etc you get the idea. hope some of the ideas help.
ps- not that you are hurting for money or anything but the blog is starting to really blow up and putting some ads up could brings in some extra revenue that you could A.) donate/start a charity of your choice, B.) Give away as prize money on the blog, C.) Buy Tickets and give them away on the blog (my personal favorite) D.) Keep for yourself and take out some nice lady friends in the city (probably you personal favorite). Anyway if you need help setting it up I would gladly do it for no charge just because of all you have done on the blog already.
Keep up the good work Phil.
Wow all of the prizes are awsome (although i have not yet upgraded from ps2 to ps3. personally the signed ball and pull over interest me the most (and the bat to now that i think about it) because i always liked trying to collect things like that. The cork is one of the coolest ideas i have heard. nice touch on that one
omg
i want that bat soooooooooo bad
Shelley Duncan is freaking AMAZING!!!!
I love how he has the energy of almost every man on that team bottled into him
=D
But where is the kitchen sink, Phil? LOL Very nice prizes and I wouldn’t mind actually winning something if I can only get to that point! I’d take it over the lottery(close but I may want to say J/K!) And as for the comment about Shelley-FYI, becca, none other than TY COBB use to slide all the time with his cleats up to second and he is in the Hall of Fame and I think Shelley could use some work on his slide as was shown previously. If he wanted to hurt he would have jabbed, but he only put his feet up lightly. And the Rays are in no position to play as if they were wronged because that full on helmet/upper body bodyslam was uncalled for and resulted in a serious injury.
I am new to blogging….Do a lot of players do this? Very impressive from a young player…you could teach a few older ball players a thing or two about how to let the fans know you appreciate them! VERY impressive.
great prizes phil! you are the man! i can’t wait for the contests!
Phil, other players should take notice and look out for the fans like you do. Unbelievable job you do here!
Phil
your blog is great with or without prizes
It’s refreshing to see an athlete interact with the fans.
Way to go.
Your on your way to an amazing career.
I know flattery will get me no where, but you are pretty much the most awesome Yankee ever. Thanks so much Phil, you’re really looking out for your fans!
more stuff that i will never get! LOL cool.
Oh my god those are great
phil hughes: nicest, coolest, best baseball player…period
I have a cork from the celebration too!! 😀
Wow. Great prizes Phil. My personal favorite I think is the cork…very unique. Of course my 6 year old son would absolutely kill me if I didn’t go all out for the 2k8 for the Wii.
I agree with someone earlier who said it would outstanding if you signed the games. What’s 2 more signatures after 2000!!
As for the incident yesterday I am in agreement with most here (not that becca chick!). I haven’t seen the footage of the slide but from the pics I’ve seen my assessment is that is was probably a less than honest mistake, but by no means a “criminal act” as Maddon of the Rays said. That stuff happens all the time in baseball and to see the Yankees with some fire and grit is nice for a change. It’s been missing for a long long time. The Rays are upstart and young and want to show they belong…that’s fine. But the division still runs through the Bronx and if they want to play like that then they should expect the Yankees to stand up and fight back a bit. Duncan didn’t charge the mound or anything silly like that. AND he didn’t rush in from right field to attack someone. He slid hard…albeit maybe slightly dirty into a player. Seems to me Tampa likes to play hard but doesn’t like to be played hard against.
Oh well. Good luck to the Rays and their 84 wins. It’s like they’ve awoken a sleeping giant. Not a particularly smart move being that they play that giant 18 times this year!
Awesome prizes
SICK PRIZES! i am very excited phil!!!
great prizes Phil! Hope you are having fun with Billy Crystal in camp!
nice prizes. can’t wait.
just hope the contests aren’t over the weekend this time (when i’m never online)
Phil any chance you autograph the cork?
Regarding Duncan, it was a very cheap shot by him. I know you guys are Yankee fans (I am a Tiger fan, but not a Yankee hater per sa), but come on, he announced it before the game and then goes spikes high? I think it was pathetic. Be a man and go after someone face first, not with spikes to try and hurt someone.
And come on, the original deal was a legal hit at home on the catcher. This is is baseball and people are trying to make teams. I would agree in an allstar game, it would be uncalled for. But not now. That was just good hardnosed baseball. If that was so bad, then someone needs another profession.
(ok, just my comments).
Nice blog Phil, I do enjoy reading it.
Shelley barely even touched the guy. He went in hard, spikes up, and sent the message. He definitely pulled up at the end and didn’t extend his foot into the 2B’s leg. Job well done. Maybe teams will think twice now before they throw at Jeter every other game.
Are any other players also considering starting a blog, maybe after seeing how successful yours has been?
you’re the man Phil. For real.
Thanks for the generosity.
Tom
I think that anybody who has watched the Yankees consistently for the past 5 years or so has seen a lot of teams take advantage of the Yankees “softness” in terms of a lack of retaliation. They’re pitching makeup for the most part was not full of guys who would send a message and I think that , that hurt the Yankees and I know if caused countless injuries to key players at various times (Jeter, Soriano to name a few).
The question of whether the slide was ultra dirty, and “pathetic” I think is vague at best. I agree that by the definition, the slide was not a legal slide and there was intent behind the slide to send a message.
I don’t think that there was a deep intent to injury on the slide as he could have done lots of other things (a barrel type slide would have been far worse) to injure. I think he wanted to send a message which was do not think that we can be taken advantage of. I think that message came across not only to the Rays but to the other teams as well.
What will be interesting, and it’s appropriate given the blog is how the Yankee pitchers handle some of this as the season progresses. Traditionally, these things are handled with “brush back” pitches or pitches that are a little too high and a little too tight. The Yankee staff (minus Clemens) has not been too keen in the past to throw these high and tight pitches.
In this year’s staff, Moose, Pettitte and Wang will almost certainly not retaliate in any manner to send a message. I think that Hughes and Joba are prime candidates in the rotation to keep the other team honest as well as the other pitcher.
Before Yankee haters jump on me, this is not to say I condone hitting another player, although sometimes it is indeed warranted. This IS to say that there are times when a smartly placed 95+ mph heater is needed and acts as a deterrent for another pitcher going after your guys. Trust me the other teams do not wanta Hughes or Chamberlain fastball brushing them back.
So that’s the positive out of this. It’s a message sender and I think the message came across loud and clear. This is a different Yankee team from the rest of this decade. New attitude, new manager…and personally I like it.
Mudhen …
Why would you say running the catcher over …like a football player ….with a helmet and his shoulders into the catcher’s gut in Spring Training is not uncalled for …yet ..you say it is in an All Star game which actually has something at stake…the home team advantage ?? Spring training is basically to get in SHAPE, get the kinks out from the winter hiatus …not to harm other players.
If you watch the video of Shelley’s slide it is not as bad as the picture that is going around. That’s a still shot at the end of the slide …if Shelley really wanted to hurt the 2nd baseman he would have continued on with the leg and kicked him hard. Watch the video and you see he hardly taps him …yet Cervelli had to have surgery and is out for months because Johnson thought he was playing football instead of baseball in the SPRING …
I don’t condone anyone dilibrately hurting another player …if Shelley really wanted to hurt Igamura (sp?) he could easily have had …Gomes blindsided Shelley after the play …after the ejection…why isn’t that getting full play on the news? Oh that’s right …Gomes isn’t a Yankee …plain and simple…
Anyway …..this really isn’t the blog to be yakking about this kind of stuff …Pete Abe’s is for that. This is a fun blog that Phil has initiated and this will be my one and only controversial comment on this blog.
Go Yankees 2008 !!!
So how cool is it that you get to have Billy Crystal as a teammate for like a day and a half?
I say all the readers here make Dwight Schrute face masks to wear when Phil pitches.
wow, GREAT prizes, Phil. I want that bat…
I have MLB 2K8 for xbox 360…. it’s actually kind of shitty. I loved last year’s version but this year has all sorts of stutter framerate problems.
You should get MLB 08 The Show, Phil. You went 15-7 in my first year of franchise with it….too bed Ian went 19-5 and won the cy young. 🙂 haha
I WANT THAT BAT!
Oh Phil …just curious …WHAT SIZE SHOE DOES SHELLEY WEAR??? That boy has some serious BIG feet …lol.
Go Yankees 2008 !!!
how about a pair of game used shelley duncan spikes?
awesome prizes! one request, can you make the next contest not have the winner be the first person to answer correctly? Its hard at work to see the contest so quick sometimes and those are some tremendous items (especially the bat and ball).
SHELLEY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, the All star game is more of an exhibition game, the spring training game is actually a real game for many players. In that situation, a rookie going home, you think he should just stand up and be tagged instead of showing the manager how he is willing to play the game? I don’t equate going spike high into 2nd base and hitting the catcher as being the same at all. Once is a cheap shot and one is a legit baseball play.
As far as the All Star game and home field, you do have a good point there, once I didn’t think about. Without that, the All star game means nothing and should not have these plays. But come on, spring training does mean more to a bunch of players. In football, they hit the QB in their preseason games, but I bet in the probowl, they lay off.
This is great, thanks Phil. Love the way you keep in touch with your fans.
Great stuff – well above and beyond.
drool.
Those are nice prizes!!!!
man i need that wii game n that shelly bat
you are crazy man! thanks so much for everything you do! we’ll be behind you all year!
tell shelly that the slide was awesome!
Do you like Disturbed at all? I caught their concert from Kuwait on MySpace the other night, it rocked and I can’t wait for their new album.
ok……these losers that keep saying what Shelly did was wrong simply need to GO>esp. that becca chick! They need to get a clue…and… Get off of this site!! Baseball is a sport filled with men who are competitive. Period. And, standing up for your fellow team members is a good thing! Those haters need to watch something less aggressive…like chess! HAHA!!
I told Shelly Duncan in Baltimore that when he became the next best thing to sliced bread, I’d sell his autograph on Ebay and split the money with him.
Tell him that now I just might keep it! 😉
Great blog, Phil! Keep up the good work.
AWESOME prizes!!! Your so generous to do all of this for the fans, it means so much to all of us, and thank you! Even if I dont end up winning anything, I still really appretaite what you are doing, for us…….. I wanted to know if you can post anything about having Billy Crystal around the clubhouse. Did you talk to him at all? How funny was he while he was around? And I saw that Robin Williams was at todays game for his at-bat, did you guys meet Robin Williams also?
I’ll say it again….Phil, you are AMAZING for giving away all this stuff. You really are the coolest player around. Thanks for everything!
YOU ARE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. AND TO THINK WE ALMOST LOST YOU FOR SOME GUY NAMED SANTANA.
hey phil ill give you 300$ for everything
Shellys Cleats Mean Business. Dont get in their way.
I like the prizes… Although I have to admit 2k8 game is not that great….
Cool prizes Phil. Tell Shelley nice job yesterday, glad that he stuck up for his teammate.
Did anyone else notice that the relay throw to home was on the first base side of home plate? Cervelli was not blocking the entire plate, the Rays player had plenty of room to slide around him, but instead he dives right into him. Now that was a cheap play. Maddon’s “borderline criminal” comment was idiotic. And Gomes needs to hit the weight room, his full speed blindside hit on Shelley moved him about 3 feet. Better get back to the weight room Johnny.
Nice prizes, I hope I win one!!!
I bought MLB 2K8 for the wii but I am rather disappointed with the controls, baserunning and the ps2 graphics.
The bat, ball and pullover are great prices!
Those are some awesome prizes Phil!!!
whats your take on the billy crystal 1 day contract? did you get a chance to talk to him at all?
man, i want that game… but ofcourse they are for the systems i don’t have! i love everything else though… Great prizes
Sweet, when is the next contest?
Awsome!!!
That Duncan bat is MINE ALL MINE!! LOVE the DUNCAN! Teams will pay for hitting the Yankees this year..
Hey Phil, thanks for the chance at the awesome prizes and good luck in your next start….
15 Wins for the Phranchise in 08!!
Any chance for a Shelly DUncan cleat……with a strand of Ray Uniform still attached??
why give away video games? are you sponsored by 2ksports or somethin?
Can you get the team to sign the cork? And Shelley was nice enough to sign autographs outside of the stadium last yr at IPK’s 1st game, can’t remember the date or the other team but it was so cool! I got his autograph!
Wow some amazing prizes. Only questions now are when’s the next contest and which prize is going to be first up in that contest.
Those are pretty sweet.
Good deal Phil, those prizes are great! Also get that Duncan basher off your siteASAP!!! I think longhornkhoa has a great idea, Shelley should add Boston SUCK’s to it like that kids ball he signed.
SHELLEY DUNCAN IS THE MAN.
if i win i do not need the mlb 2k8 for any of those systems. i already have it for the Wii. so make sure if i win dont send the games.
You ARE the MAN, Phil! You are the greatest and most generous person in all of Major League baseball. I could guarrantee you no other player would do all the stuff you’re doing for the fans.
I really hope you keep this up and dont turn into another rich, snobby millionaire baseball player.
Mussina looked great today! Let’s hope he can keep it up the whole year!
How ’bout not entering the contest where the prize is the videogame. Then you’ll be sure that Phil won’t send you a game you already have…..
The cork is definitely one of the more original prizes I’ve seen. Very cool. However, that bat definitely would make a good addition to my future (1 or so yrs.) Yankee room.
“wmadey (09:52:53) :
how about a pair of game used shelley duncan spikes?”
HAHA!! Awesome.
Thanks for being so generous to us fans, Phil! You don’t have to give away anything, but yet you do! We really appreciate it. Congrats on your performance so far this season, and I have no doubt that you’ll keep it up. Go Yanks!
Hi Phil
Billy Crystal looked great…………………………LOL
Back in business……had to buy a new puter…..
Bill
wow, sick prizes.
i can picture myself hitting the team signed ball with a shelley duncan bat… although of course, i would never touch either one, in case i got my DNA on them.
Awesome haul of terrific stuff there. Thanks so much Phil!
http://310tojoba.blogspot.com/
hey, Phil you should sign the 2k8 games on the cover.
thanks,
Hey, Phil you should sign the pull over and 2k8 games.
great gifts, can’t wait till the contests. I would love the team signed ball.
Hey Phil do you think you could come up with a minor injury to push your start back a few days to a day that they’re actually televising the game on YES? I still have yet to see you pitch because of the stupid TV scheduling.
Check out why we still love Eliot Spitzer
Also, we should sign Doug Mirabelli so we can have the inside scoop on all the Red Sox strategy.
Check out why we still love Eliot Spitzer at http://www.nyystadiuminsider.com
Good luck tomorrow phil, Try to push it to 5 innings, I want to see how long your stuff can last. Of course keep it safe.
Nice stuff
Should be fun
Must be giving away the games because they are horrible! Get MLB The show. Its the best baseball game yet!
i would like to be considered for the contest. thank you
Hey Phil,
Thanks for the great prizes. Hope I can win one
Phil ****ing Hughes for president.
Haha, but seriously, you are way too great to us. Although due to my luck I will never win anything, I still am so siked, and you are quickly becoming my favorite athlete. Awesome, just awesome
When are the contests going to be?
I will kill for that bat or the pullover
I got screwed out of every contest on your old site
I think I should win something good now 🙂
can’t wait! hope spring training is going well for you.
Great blog Phil. I discovered it by accident, and now I love it. It’s great to see a player willing to let the fans in to a little bit of what goes on in you guys lives. Can’t wait for the next contest.
hello phil, thanks for the chance to have a part of yankee history, and we look forward to you being a big part of many championship teams , tell shelly great to see the yankee fire again something that has been missing for a few years.keep up the great pitching , cant wait for the season to start.
go yankees !!!!
just read on another site that you are pitching tomorrow…good luck with it!
this stuff is amazing! i like the 2007 game used pullover
Cork from 2007 wild card clinching celebration
Shelley Duncan signed bat
MLB 2K8 for PS3
MLB 2K8 for Wii
and that team signed ball is pretty cool too lol
i probably won’t win any of the contests but it’s awesome that you’re doing this
congrats in advance to the people that win you lucky ducks! lol
oooo nice lineup of prizes, I’d love to own any of them.
There’s a reason the “play-for-now” Yankees wouldn’t even discuss Hughes in trade talks. He has fantastic stuff, pinpoint control, a great “pitcher’s body” (6-5, 220) and mound savvy … which helped him become Baseball America’s No. 4-ranked prospect (No. 2 if you excluded Delmon Young and Daisuke Matsuzaka, which some rankings did) heading into last season.
-Brendan Roberts of ESPN Online
wow great prizes, now i have to go change my pants.
Congratulation! both of your blog, and this post are high ranked in
“The top blogs of the day” report
Phil, if you happen to get Girardi’s ear for a miniute maybe suggest batting Cano 3rd in front of Arod, no big deal your not a rookie anymore you can make suggestions that you think will help the team….. right?
Phil, do you play Call Of Duty 4? If so, what is your user tag???
Thanks! Love your site!
Phil, no thoughts on the brawl? Nothing at all?
Hey Hughes,
I recently bought the MLB 2K8 for the Wii, and it’s hard as heck!
Did you know that they simulated your face for the Xbox version, but they have your actual face for the Wii…
Random Thoughts…
I have a question,Phil,is it possible that you got A-Rod’s autograph for my Grandma? She’s already 81 years old but she loves A-Rod. Her name is Rose,if you can,I’d appreciate it,if you can’t,that’s completely understandable, good luck on your next start!
Sally
Phil,
Thanks for taking the time to make all of this possible. The prizes are great!
good luck today.
hey phil I cant wait for the season! good luck and bring home # 27 for us!! your the man phil!
I beat Humbe Sanchez on that game. He’s effing great playing MLB the Show 2008. I beat him pitching with Joba vs. Roy Holliday from the Blue Jays (my first time beating him in like 50 times I played him)…
Then there are losers like littlekittynyc. Yeah, really need the spike high slide, that’s ok to do. Right, sure. That’s why the idiot got thrown out right? Oppsie. Now, if Jeter were the SS and a Ray did that to him, then you guys would want his head. Go ahead, tell me you wouldn’t….
Now, Mudhen…..I am sure if Shelley wanted to do major damage…he would AND could have. There were no broken bones that day…..
Lest we forget that our boy, Shelley, comes from a baseball family/baseball backgroung….he may come across to people in different ways, but he isn’t stupid; he knows what he is doing…..
sucks we can’t watch you pitch today…too bad its not on MLB.tv
so, you never answered the real question. Reverse it and Jeter gets that slide. What do you think? (not really expecting honesty).
hey
i agree, i’m mad i can’t watch you whenever you pitch but at least it’s only spring training. What do you think about shelley’s suspension/? you dont have to answer that, i don’t want you to get in trouble. It sucks man, it’s okay to run over a catcher but not slide hard into second?
take it easy
have a good year
You didn’t miss anything …he got hit today ?????????????????????????????????
Looks like some great stuff. Thanks for giving us the chance to win! Liking #34 as well.
Seriously Phil, stop pitching during the road games !!! By the way if you haven’t played “The Show” is the game to have. Although I always wondered if you already played for the Yankees and played baseball professionally would you still play the baseball games? I mean the NFL guys seem to play Madden enough.
Phil
I think that you should include one of Shelley’s shoes that he slid into second with. I’m serious.. Shelley is the man. The name of this next generation should simply be called “The Movement”
amen to that
Great stuff Phil just like you have on the field.
I am willing to go into the cage for a death match for that pullover.
If you want to just throw away that copy of MLB 2k8 for the Wii, I’ll take it. The Show is way better anyway, so I’d never buy 2k. I don’t know if you played The Show, Phil but they’ve got the 3 of you down pat!
Very cool prizes Phil, can’t wait for the next contest!
Wow Phil these are some great prizes. Is the pullover autographed?
Nice I would never be able to fit into the pullover but I would frame it for the den
i would kill to have that Shelley Duncan bat
he’s the funniest player on the Yankees
I love that guy
=D
one question
did Shelley ever hurt your arm high fiving you before?
I’d LOVE to win the cork; I work at a winery and like to collect bottles etc 🙂 Great prizes
Phil can you hook a brotha up ?
I’d LOVE to win this. Is this your pull over?
Hey Phil,
What’s going on man? Those some great prizes man. I’m the ultimate Yankees fan. I have a 4 month old daughter and she’s already wearing everything Yankees. Hope I am lucky enough to win at least one of those nice prizes. I see that you have The Show for PS3. do you play PS3? If so you have to try Call of Duty 4 man. It’s a great game. Well i’ll be talking to you Phil. Take care of that arm buddy.
Hey those are some great prizes yknow what would be really awesome is a pic of your guys in your wizard of oz costumes to give away as a prize. Doesnt even need to be autographed……… What do folks think of that?????
yes
omg
that would be an awesome prize
why are you giving away the celebration for the wild card cork? did you not have a celebration for the division? or any postseason victories? just wonderin’.
Thats so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice! I hope I can win some of that!
