Hope everyone is doing well. Not too much to report lately from Tampa. I was in shock when I found out the extent of my rib injury. Not the best way to start off the season to say the least. I will post more when there is more news.
I didn’t get a chance to watch last night’s season finale. So don’t spoil it. Haha. Later
hey man. get well soon. we need you out there. remember, you have a very long leash with us fans. please don’t listen to anything the idiots say. you’ll have an awesome second half.
dont worry bout it my man. young pitchers are supposed to have growing pains, even the best prospect of 2007 Mr. Phil Hughes. get well soon brother, i cant wait to see you come back in the 2nd half and making those sox/met fans who doubted you eat crow.
peace out Franchise
Get well soon, Phil.
Poohs!!
It’s been so long! Keep your head up and get healthy. Hopefully I’ll see you in aug. during the sox series!
As Michael Scott would say, “You must Act, adapt, react, apt.”
Hey Phil,
Good to hear from you. Hope you’re doing well….get back soon.
How are you getting used to the new glasses?
Hey Phil. Can’t wait to see you back, nice to hear from you. Thanks for keeping up the posts. Feel better soon, but don’t worry about it. Miss ya!
Hey Phil. Hope you get feeling better soon. Can’t wait to watch you soon!
-Ashley
Hey Phil,
Thanks for posting. It’s always great to hear from you!
I know you’re going through a rough time right now, but things will definitely get better 😀
PS: I think the glasses will work for you–I actually think they make a pitcher look more intimidating… just look how much more badass Edwar looks with his on 😉
Take care and get well soon. Can’t wait to see you back on the mound…it won’t be too much longer now
Hope u will be back soon!
Miss u !!!!
hey phil – it’s great to hear from you again… hope you start feeling better soon!
how about some contests?! :o)
Phil, you need to get better the team needs you. The starters depth isn’t great this season, but it is nice to see Rasner playing well. Rest up and get back on the mound, we need a 34 in pinstripes out there.
Hey Phil hope your feeling a lil better.
You should post a pic of you in the new glasses!!
Thanks!
I really want to see Phil in his new glasses too!
Random pic of the day??? lol
Speedy recovery.
Hope you get well soon.
get well soon, and thanks for turning me on to the office. after all your talk about it i rented a bunch on netflix and they are great
I can’t wait until I get to see your glasses! I got glasses recently and they take a little while to get used to but you end up liking them. It is good to see you are updating again! I hope you get well soon, the injury sounds pretty bad!
Hey Phil, hope you are the road to recovery, can’t wait to see you get back out there.
And another thing Phil as some have already said, ignore the morons posting garbage, they are just morons with nothing better to do than post crap on the internet.
I hope your feeling better! Your gonna do great when you come back. You, Joba, and Ian are awesome! Dont listen to the bs that some of these morons are saying.
Get well, Phil. Can’t wait to see you back on the mound.
Whoa The Office was awesome!!! I can’t believe Jim left Pam for Meredith and Creed was promoted to Manager. Such a shock!!! (of course none of that is true)
Honestly, it was a good show, and so nice to have it back to back with Lost (and not having to flip to the Yankees since it was a day game). I hope you get to watch it soon, as they got some good storylines to establish next season.
I think Dunder Mifflin should start providing paper to the SWB Yankees and have an episode focused on an office trip to the game to see YOU when you make that rehab start. How cool would that be?
Dammit Phil hurry up and get back we need you.
Hey Phil, glad to have an update. Can’t wait till you come back. good luck with the whole eyesight thing. I used to pitch and i realized I could barely see the catchers glove… got glasses after that.
hey phil, you should go on officetally.com after watching the last episode for the deleted scenes. and a speedy recovery to you.
Really missed you both on the field and with updates. Can’t wait to have you back. So I hear it’s only conditioning that you do?
And The Office was great.
Don’t rush yourself back Phil (I know you won’t, but still) just focus on getting better and enjoy your season finale! ^_^
love you phil

Hope you heal quickly Phil. Looking forward to seeing you pitch again. The finale was pretty good. Had some funny and cringe worthy moments.
Phil, the finale is hilarious, you’ve gotta watch it.
Soooooo funny.
OMG yes…the finale was amazing. I just really wish we didn’t have to wait so long for the next episode
Good to hear from you Phil…get well soon! You’ll be fine. 🙂
Thanks for the update Phil. I have yet to watch the office finale as well. Got it tivo’d so I should watch tonight.

He’s alive! I was begining to think that Cashman shut this blog down. Take your time getting better Phil and stop being a stranger.
sure you are hating this right now…not being able to play. hope you are recovering well and not driving yourself crazy with, what I assume, lots of free time. can’t wait to see you back out on the mound again!
hey phil, yea im sure its tough just keep battling and get back. we need ya
also, the office kicked ass and i cant wait for it to come back. watch it soon or else there may be a problem

Good to hear from you. Hope your rehab goes well. What glasses did you choose? Kind of like Bonderman’s specs? Can’t wait for your return.
Kevin
Good job Phil. The people here really do want to keep up on things and know how you’re doing.
get well phil. we still believe in you. get back better than ever. we are going to need you. we don’t doubt for a second that you will live up to your great potential. just get back soon and show everyone what you got. keep us posted on your progress. see you on the mound soon.
Phil…keep your head up man…hope everything goes well with rehab so you are able to get back on a mound and contribute down the stretch…
get well soon Franchise…. you’re my x-factor for the Yanks down the stretch!
Phil!!! glad you posted man, i reallly hope you’re recovering well, good luck: D
Office was sick.
Huuuuughes. Good luck with your recovery. True yankee fans got your back…I mean..who else is willing to believe you were just blind this whole time :-p
no offense dude but the yankees needed you at the top of your game….
Hope you recover quickly, Phil. Also, I heard a rumor about how you needed glasses when you return. Any truth to that?
hey phil can’t wait to see you back and pitching well again, i’m getting tired of all this losing, i hope you’re talking to people and watching videos and stuff, just getting mentally prepared to pitch again, in the words of yogi: “baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical”
The new Office was great, enjoy that tonight or when ever you plan to watch it. Other then that thanks for saying something, updates are always good, and get better!
Phil Get Better Soon & check out Trenton standings
I hope you heal and get back soon! Always rooting for you.
Get better soon Phil. Like other people have said, don’t listen to the morons out there criticizing you. YOU get healthy and we’ll see you later in the Summer. You’ll come out there and shock’em all and us fans will just sit back and smile. Cause we believe in you.
Don’t worry about it Phil, just heal up and get right back out there. We’re behind you 100%. Pay no attention to the papers and talk radio…it’s all garbage. We all know what you’re capable of and can’t wait to see you in action again!
Hi Phil!
I’m happy to see you back blogging…..As you can see you’ll get support and encouragement here….We all want you back and pitching for many years to come. Keep your chin up, your ribs safe and your eyes sharp!
Hey Phil, thanks for the update. And we’re bummed about your injury too, but I guess that’s life. Hope you heal up soon… and let us know what’s going on in Tampa!
hey phil hope you feel better and can you please read and comment on my wordpress blog??? its kaleenaraine.wordpress.com
well the finale was great hope you get to watch it soon….
i was just reading earlier today about some yankees and wearing gold thongs to get out of slumps – just wondering if you have any superstitions, rituals, or the like of your own? maybe something to blog about?!
Hello Phil,
hope you get better soon and hope to see you pitching again in New York. We were at the subway series today and saw an article about your blog in the Yankees magazine. Now it’s even more competition in the contest I guess ;-).
Many greetings from New Haven!
http://www.fitz350z.wordpress.com
Steve Carrell is on saturday night live(SNL) tonight from the office
Hey man hope you get better soon we need you out there. Get well. Start by watching all the seasons of 24, great show man! That’ll fire you up for when you come back.
How exactly did you hurt your rib, I’ve been reading differing reports?
Tell the guys it’s about small ball and not going yard every at bat. Just relax and hit the ball. Shelly looks to nervous and tense at the plate. We all want you guys to win, that’s why we are your fans. Small ball, live it, love it, do it. Pass it on.
=/ ugghh i totally miss watching you pitch. i know, selfish of me to say. i definitely want you to get better, tho! sooo…get better asap. ❤ til then, im still watching every game, and loving every time youre in the dugout and they show you or whenever the announcers talk about you! and i hope if you’re going through physical therapy it doesnt kill, cause i just got knee surgery and the physical therapy is such a pain. =[
I hope your rib gets better soon . . . I can’t wait to see you back in the rotation!
And please post a picture of you with your glasses if you can– I think we all want to see what you look like!
Yay, Phil! Nice to hear from you again. And I want to join everyone else in wishing you a great recovery. Just take it easy and enjoy The Office. Does it hurt to laugh with the rib? Anyways, take care and don’t be a stranger!
Why does everyone ask ?’s. He has never answered 1. The rib injury was the best thing that happened to him. He was headed back to Scranton. Now he can clear his head and get his mind going in the right direction.
The hamstring injury last year was nightmare.but the rib injury this year………a blessing. I hope the rib injury was the cause of the disastrious start. If not,Yanks are in trouble.
Phil, I really hope that you get better. But the most important thing is that you take your time. Look at what happened with Alex when he came back to early. It has been a lot fun watching you so far, and I hope that us Yankees fans will be watching you for many many years to come. Go Yanks
The office was sooo good but i won’t ruin it…..
Do you know how you fractured your rib?
Feel BETTER!
GREAT TO HEAR FROM YA PHIL!!!! CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH YOU GUYS LOSE AGAIN TO NEW YORK’S REAL BASEBALL TEAM TONITE!!!
HAHAHAHA
YANKEES HAVE ALWAYS SUCKED!!!!!

Get well soon, Phil. 🙂
Get better soon Phil! Thanks for the post!
Hello Phil,
I had a self travel from Taiwan to USA this early May. Due to the bad weather in Denver, I couldn’t catch my correcting flight and stayed in Chicago first night. After a long long day, I arrived the inn to stay for a night finally. Guess waht, the 1st news in the TV was you were injured. What a shock! I didn’t see you in New York this time. MISS YOU SO MUCH. Hope to see you in person soon.
HI Phil,
How’s ur injury?
r u still OK?
Can’t wait to see u pitch again !!
Hey Phil… Nice to hear from you. Hope that you are healing and keeping your head up. You’ve got a long career ahead of you! Plenty of baseball left in the season.
You’ll love The Office finale.
Hope to see you on the mound soon!
Hey Phil,
Hope you have a speed recovery! We need you out there. See ya in the Bronx real soon!
Good luck with the rehab, Wild Thing.
One thing I will say – you are lucky to have doctors fawning all over you. I suffered a hernia in January, finally had it surgically repaired in April, am now just past six weeks into my recovery, and only within the last week have gotten clearance to lift anything more than 10 pounds. Moises Alou had the same injury, got it repaired the next day, and is already back playing ball. If only I could hit a major league curveball…
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
HUGHES IS FOLLOWING ALONG THE FOOTSTEPS OF EL DUQUE, SPENDING HALF OF SEASON AFTER SEASON RUNNING ALONG THE BEACHES OF TAMPA!! THIS CLOWN WILL BE IN CARL PAVANO TERRITORY IF HE COMES UP WITH ANY OTHER MYSTERIOUS INJURIES.
BTW PHILLIP, HOW ON EARTH DID YOU BREAK A RIB?? WRESTLING AFTER HOURS WITH SHELLEY DUNCAN?
PHILLY, DID YOU HAPPEN TO CATCH JON LESTER’S NO HITTER TODAY? TALK ABOUT A PITCHER WITH TALENT, HE HAS MORE WINS THAN YOU AND IAN KENNEDY (GENERATION GAY) COMBINED!! WHAT A JOKE YOU GUYS ARE.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GENERATION GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just concentrate on getting healthy, Phil. hope to see you back in the Bronx soon.
Cheers, Travis
alright i am not a phil hughes lover but i am above all a yankees fan and last time i checked he is still a yankee. hating on him really does nothing, and comparing him to carl pavano is unfair. The real fans discountenanced verbal bashing by the “so called fans”. jon lester is a great story for baseball considering his past struggles and knowing quite a few survivors and current patients we should all be happy for him. rushing both kennedy and hughes along was not the best plan but we are stuck with the situation now and have to make the best of it. considering our history with heating up in the summer i am not giving up hope yet. as for post bashing it really isnt necessary considering phil isnt even checking this anyway so keep your negative opinion to yourself because no one here is really interested in it.
Dear Phil,
Get well soooooon!! The team needs you very much. This was supposed to be your season and it sucks as a fan to know you’re injured. Heal quickly.
Go Yankees.
Hey 34
Protect that rib! Really do hope you’re feeling better.
Also, would really love to see a separated-at-birth photo comparison of Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn and you with your glasses!
Any timeline to get you back in the rotation? We need you pal.
SMS
You’re a class act 89mph. My best to Sully and the rest of your thug buddies. Now… get your butt off to school. You’re late for your 10th year of Kindergarten. You’re parents must be very proud.
89mph, I hope Hughes follows in El Duque foot steps. That means more Championships for the Yankees and by the end of his career, he’ll be with the Mets with absolutely nothing to offer. You Douche Bag Mets fan, its nice to see when a kid talks shit without knowing anything
And as far as Pavano, Hows Pedro holding up?
Hope you recover quickly, Phil. Also, I heard a rumor about how you needed glasses when you return. Any truth to that?
Hang in there champ!
Some music suggestions to tide you over:
In Flames- A Sense of Purpose
Apocalyptica- Worlds Collide
Looking forward to seeing you back on the mound again.
Phil
The guys look like they are in desperate need of a sugar rush.
Nothing a quick trip to Costco for Snickers and Jelly Belly’s couldn’t cure.
Send your boys a care package to help the cause.
with all due respect champs26times, the yankees would do anything to have el duque in their rotation tight now.
Take Care,
Canada Day
Once again, with all due respect champs26times, Pedro has made the all star team twice as a member of the New York Metropolitan Baseball Club.
by the time Carl Pavano’s contract is up after this season, he will have earned $7,990,000.00 per win (5), $2,102,631.58 per start (19), and $23,486.18 per pitch thrown (1701) in pinstripes. Pretty good deal ya got there eh? so quit talkin, us fans just gotta suck it up and gulp down that contract which was the biggest bust of all time.
i’m sorry, but Canada comes first in situations like this and as a Canadian i have a duty to defend one arguably the best pitchers to ever pitch for a baseball club in my “Home & Native Land”.
CANADA DAY OUT!
Hey Phil,
I hoping that u are going well, don’t let any red sox or mets fan get to u I know when u get back I hope u go on a tear and come with a comeback winning streak so you don’t ending up with a losing season record. So good luck and get better soon because the Yankees and the fans need you.
Heather aka Pucca From Windsor CT
It’s alright Phil, don’t worry…you’ll be back before you know it
i know i am late on this but.. hurray for your colleague jon lester!
Keep your chin up Phil! Get well!
We can’t wait to see you back in the Bronx.
Hi Phil, first time poster, long time fan. You’re by far my favorite pitcher to watch, you have the sickest curve in the league. I just got one question for you- Whats with all this golden thong weirdness? You part-take?
I disagree. Buchholz’s curve is nastier. I watched a hitter hit the deck thinking it was going to hit him in the head and then it just drops in for a strike. Ridiculous.
Hey Phil, we missed you around these parts. I know the idiotic commnets must be tough, but those of us that count (fans) wish you the best and a speedy recovery -but not too fast, make sure you are healed first!! Hopefully when I get to the stadium in September you will be back and better than ever. Will miss ya in Pittsburgh though I fear… With that GO PENS!! and thank goodness we got a win yesterday so I can watch ESPN today!
Penn St. done, Giants done, Rangers done, now all my attention is on my Yankees. I hope your feeling better Phil, you’ve had some tough luck injuries so far. When does the hard work of rehabing going to start ? You could be the difference down the stretch.
Take care,
can’t wait to see you back on the mound 34! Here’s to a fast and COMPLETE recovery! You’ve got a lot of talent that New Yorkers can’t wait to see back in pinstripes.
“Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the grand canyon is just a hole in Arizona.”

I SEE NO ROOM FOR THE BOY WONDER, THE MAN WITH THE BLAZING 89MPH FASTBALL, THE “FRANCHISE.” PHYLISS HUGHES, MAYBE AFTER THEY RELEASE IGAWA THERE WILL BE A ROTATION SPOT FOR PHYLISS DOWN IN SCRANTON, HAHAHA!!!!!
THIS GUYS CAREER AS A YANKEE MIGHT BE OVER BEFORE IT’S BEGUN!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
THE LAST PLACE NEW YORK YANKEES!!!!!!
Hey Phil!!!! Good to see you!
I hope you are feeling better. We can’t wait for you to come back and take care of business. Ike looked GREAT tonight. The game was SO MUCH FUN!
Miss you!!!!
~ Beth
Thanks Canada Day. For completly wastig your time to find out Carl Pavano’s salary breakdown. It’s nice to see someone from another country that interested in it……………..and 89mph,someone like you,who goes out of his way on a site with no other intention than to iritatate people,is always the kid that got the shit kicked out of him in hs.Im sorry u had no friends.
good luck phil
Hey guys i was thinking some of you might be interested in this game as sports fans. Football MMORPG sign up create a guy find a team and have fun. Using this link will help me get referrall points. Check it out it’s alot of fun. GO YANKEES

hey phil, i hope you’re enjoying the weather down in tampa, it hasn’t been great here in NY until today – you would have thought you were living in seattle all the rain we had here this week.
Anyway, Dr. Hershon (the team orthepedist) is the man, he is my Mom’s doctor actually, and he’s fantastic at what he does, so i’m convinced, you’re in good hands.
Otherwise, enjoy some good tv, channel good energy, focus on what matters, heal, and work mentally on the reason you love baseball. The big picture, i’ve learned being the same age – puts things in perspective – you can better yourself. Only you. So do what you have to do in Tampa, get yourself prepared, and we – the fans, look forward to seeing you fresh and healthy when you are ready for us.
It’s great to see you’re still actively blogging, make sure to do it more – it’s great to hear from you. 😀
Happy Early Memorial Day
– Kristen, Massapequa, LI, NY
Get well soon Phil. We miss you.
89mphfastball,
Wow you obviously have no life. How sad. Everyone has commented on here maybe once & you’ve commented what…like 300 times maybe? What a loser. Don’t you have some weird friends to hang out with? Do you even have any friends? I guarantee that you wouldn’t have the balls to say anything like this in person. Do you think Phil really gives a sh** about anything you have to say? & BTW IPK pitched great yesterday. I cant wait till Phil & Ian prove you wrong. There here to stay
Get better soon Phil.
Anyone have any updates on Phil…like when his rehab assignment is expected to start? i can’t seem to find anything of late on him.
http://zellspinstripeblog.wordpress.com/
Kevin
Kevin,
We don’t have much info now, but should know more really soon. He’s scheduled to have an x-ray soon (like within the next week or so) to see if the fracture has healed.
Once its determined that the rib is better they can set the rehab plan.
hi, I am 19 years old, I come from Taiwan, I am sure that you know where Taiwan is, but my point is i hope you can carry on for yourself, all the fans of Yankees and Yankees, I hope you can come back and strike out all the hitters…
anyway, i will be Yankees fans forever!
Phil,
As you know getting back into this rotation is going to be very difficult. The transition from Joba has begun and it’s only time until he’s starting. They found talent in Darry and he’s prooving us wrong. Ian is finally pitching. And they are not getting rid of the vets and Chein. So from my opinion you need to start proving yourself because last year we saw a future ace pitch. Wheres that Phil? Generation Trey is dead without you. Sure theres Joba and Ian but theres no Phil theres no one from California. Theres no Sunshine (Remember The Titans). So we need you Phil. To win the Yanks need the three yoots (My Cousin Vinny) back.
Lets Go Yankees,
David
generationtrey,
Did you get the memo? Phil Hughes has a broken rib. His rib has probably been broken since the season first started (when the whole team got sick). He doesn’t need to prove himself. He is the youngest pitcher in the majors. He needs to get better (with time) and get back to what he has always done. I seriosly doubt the Yankees wont have “room” for him in the rotation. BTW Ian is from California.
YOU GUYS NEED TO STOP TALKING SHIT.STOP TRYING TO ACT ALL HARD OVER THE INTERNET.WINNING A FIGHT OVER THE INTERNET IS LIKE WINNING THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS.EVEN IF YOU WIN YOUR STILL RETARTED.
PHIL DONT WORRY YOU WILL DO JUST FINE ONCE YOU COME BACK WITH THE GLASSES.YOU WILL BE JUST LIKE YOU WERE IN THE ONLY WIN IN THE ALDS.HOW ARE THE GLASSES WORKING ANYWAY?
THERE’S ONLY ROOM FOR ONE PERSON TYPING IN ALL CAPS, AND THAT’S ME.
GTFO!!
HEY PHIL CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR YOUR NEXT POST!
Hey Phil, no worries, you’ll be ok. Hope to see you back soon.
GEE, I FEEL SORT OF BAD FOR WILLIE RANDOLPH, CONSIDERING HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A PROMINENT YANKEE
Hey Phil, I hope your rehab is going well. If you have time to write, it’d be interesting for us to hear what its like to go through rehab during the middle of the season and any updates. Hope to see you at the stadium sometime in July or sooner.
Looks like 89mphfastball needs to stop by Bellevue.
Don’t pay attention to the haters Phil. Just get healthy and work hard to come back. Good luck! 🙂
ey man too bad about the injury. I wouldnt worry too much about a spot in the rotation, you are the future ace of our staff along with JUSTIN lol. Take your time coming back so you dont hurt yourelf worse. You have a long career ahead of yourself. The team is doing ok with out you right now. Good luck with the rehab. three amigos fan
Don’t know if you noticed, but we need you to get healthy and be yourself!!! And please please can something be done to get rid of Latroy Hawkins…There are young guys down in AAA who can get the job done like you three and it is time to promote them!
Just my opinion…not trying to knock Joe, actually think he is and going to be a great manager, just wanted to get my opinion across. Hawkins doesn’t have the balls to do it here in NY!
Yankees need you back and I need you for my fantasy team. “Office”finale was nice. Hell’s Kitchen is good too. Darrel Rasner is holding down the fort nice for ya. Best of Luck in your recovery. Hope to see you out there soon.
Can’t wait till you get back man. Take it easy and drink lots of milk…or something, I don’t know. Just come back healthy so we can kick some ass. You’re the man and fuck the sox blah blah blah. Awesome. Later.
Phil-
All these doubters are absurd. You know you got talent and I know you got talent. Anyone that saw you pitch a near no-hitter cannot deny that. Not to mention you play for a team that anyone on the planet can only dream of playing for- America’s team, the greatest franchise in sports history (undeniable).
I am a 22 year old Yankee fan living in Providence, RI where I just graduated college and I have to deal with the most arrogant Red Sox fans on the planet every day of my life just like you do on this blog. I keep on smiling bc i know Yankee fans are the greatest in the world. Red Sox fans would rather see the Yankees lose than their team win, and if one considers that being a true fan, then their sense of reality and loyalty is majorly distorted. Hell, I can definitely see where they come from, 1996-2000 was a time when a lot of aggression and jealousy got built up and now it’s their time to release it.
Keep rehabbin dude, and I can’t wait to see you get out there and prove people up here is ‘Red Sox nation’ wrong. Hope all is well in Tampa and keep those legs strong!
-Liam
FUNNY HOW 89MPHFASTBALL HASN’T BEEN HEARD FROM SINCE THE METS STARTED SUCKING…OH WAIT, THEY ALWAYS HAVE!!!
I’M RIGHT HERE. I WATCH OVER THIS BLOG LIKE A HAWK. I’M THE GUARDIAN, IF YOU WILL.
RIGHT….
dont worry phil i got yo back or should i say your ribs lol even though u have been really struggling if u come back in the second half i think u would do a great job!
Peace,
Kalee
I can’t wait to see Phil and Joba in the rotation.
Phil, how about some injury updates man??
Phil ,
I miss seeing you pitch every five days. I can’t wait till you come back in the second half and show everyone the real Phil Hughes like last year , in the regular season and hopefully in the playoffs. I hope to see you pitching soon. I can’t wait.
Hey Phil,
Dont worry. Just get ready to pitch again. We need you!
And remember what ever garbage you hear from fans just remember you are pitching for the NEW YORK YANKEES at age 21!
Good luck man!
hey phil its been a while since uve updated!
I dont know how much activity they r letting u do down there in tampa, but i know for a fact ur not working all day and u probably have quite a bit of down time. A little post here or there would be nice
Yeah I wish Phil would update us on whats going on. I figured since he was out he would update the blog more.. but apparently not. Get well Phil, I wanna come see you at the Stadium this year. Keep working and you will be fine. Dont listen to the haters. Peace!
Hi Phil!!
I hope your rib will be better soon! We all miss you!!!:)
you are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jOBA MADE HIS DEBUT LAST NIGHT
guys don’t get all worried about joba’s first start…i mean after all, he was facing Canada’s team. hope he shakes it off and does better against the american ball clubs!
now i leave you with the lyrics to the official song of Canada’s ball club, “OK Blue Jays (Lets Play Ball!)”
You’ve got a diamond
You’ve got nine men
You’ve got a hat and a bat
And that’s not all
You’ve got the bleachers
Got ’em from spring ’til fall
You got a dog and a drink
And the umpire’s call
Waddaya want?
Let’s play ball!
Is that a fly ball
Or is it a seagull
Coming in from the lake
Just to catch the game?
It’s the last inning
Our guys are winning
Dave’s put down a smoker
A strike
And you’ve got no doubt
(You’re out!)
Waddaya want?
Let’s play ball!
OK (OK!)
BLUE JAYS (BLUE JAYS!)
LETS (LETS!) PLAY (PLAY!) BALL!
It’s a beautiful evenin’, fans
At the ballpark
When the game starts
Warm summer breezes
Sun’s goin’ down
And it’s all dark
At the ballpark
But that’s okay…it’s a night game
OK (OK!)
BLUE JAYS (BLUE JAYS!)
LETS (LETS!) PLAY (PLAY!) BALL!
OK (OK!)
BLUE JAYS (BLUE JAYS!)
LETS (LETS!) PLAY (PLAY!) BALL!
Bring on the White Sox
Bring on the BoSox
Bring on the Brewers
The Rangers and the Yankees too
We’ll beat the Indians
We’ll beat the Tigers
We’ll beat the A’s so bad it’ll make

i thought joba did well last night considering the fact that toronto knew he could only throw 60-75 pitches. We now have 2 big game aces on our hands in new york in hughes AND chamberlain!!!
Canada Day: Shut up. You retard Toronto-nians? are NOT Canadian. You give real Canadians a bad name. Take that Jays song and shove it. The Yankees are the real deal, the Jays just live in awe – just like every other team in the Majors. 26 – not enough.
89mph – what are you? A Red Sox fan?
Phil – From a real Yankees fan from an actual part of Canada, not just the joke city we send the rejects to, get well soon my friend. I love watching the whole staff pitch, and I can’t wait to see that 34 back on the mound.
thank you langhower
HA! too bad you haven’t read any of my earlier posts eh? maybe you’d see which part of Canada I’m really from!
anyone excited about cole?
Canada Day: HA! I don’t care.
How about that giant boomer from Giambi? Where’s Toronto’s team now? Notice I didn’t say Canada’s, because even though we don’t have a choice, they aren’t our team.
1 win at a time boys…
A few days late, but here is an update on Phil Hughes from yahoo sports:
May 29 Hughes isn’t expected to be cleared to throw for at least another week after a bone scan of his injured ribs revealed a “hot spot,” according to the New York Daily News.
Advice: Hughes is expected to have another bone scan next week as he continues to struggle with the injury. He’ll likely need a month of rehab once he is deemed healthy.
